The arithmetic
Subscription AI tools charge $20 to $60 a month, and they mark up every single generation on top of that. You pay for the software, then you pay again for the pixels, at a price somebody else set.
Aura charges you $49. Once. Then it gets out of the way and talks straight to your providers with your keys, at your providers' published rates.

Year one, that's $311 back in your pocket before a single generation. Three years in, the same subscription has taken $1,080 and Aura has taken $49. Everything else you spend goes to the company actually running the GPU, at the price they publish, on an invoice you can read.
There is no credits system in Aura because there is no meter in Aura.
Aura never sees your generations, never fronts the compute, and never takes a percentage. The app builds the request on your device and sends it to the provider you configured with the key you pasted. That's the entire supply chain.
You are not buying credits. You are buying software.
Aura has no operator-run servers, no accounts, and no login screen. Your API keys sit in the system Keychain on your own machine. When a provider drops prices, you get the drop that day, because there was never a layer between you and the invoice.
The subscription model made sense when somebody else was paying for the GPUs. Nobody else is paying for your GPUs.
The catalog
Aura ships with exact, versioned catalogs for six providers: 370 from fal, 255 from Runware, 168 from Kie.ai, 142 from Replicate, 35 from Runway, and 24 from Higgsfield. A live refresh reconciles thousands more on demand (Runware's listing alone runs to 3,700), and custom providers let you point Aura at your own endpoint.
Advanced parameters
Aura exposes 2,458 tunable parameters across 709 models, driven by each provider's actual schema: steps, guidance, seed, negative prompt, aspect ratio, resolution, duration, voices, masks, dialogue turns, reference audio, video, and image inputs. The model you picked arrives with the controls it actually has.

Self-repairing requests
Providers rename models and change parameters without telling anyone. When a request breaks, Heal diagnoses it with an LLM plus live web search against the provider docs bundled inside the app, then repairs the request shape on the spot. You don't wait for an app update.
Vision-aware enhance
Enhance Prompt rewrites what you typed using an LLM, and it can see the reference images and video frames you attached. It's describing your actual input instead of guessing at it from your adjectives.
Crash recovery
In-flight generations survive a crash or a quit and resume where they left off, without resubmitting. Your provider bills you once for the job you asked for, which is the correct number of times.
Native, not wrapped
Aura is a real SwiftUI app on Mac (macOS 14 and later), iPhone, and iPad, rather than a website in a window with a Dock icon. Your keys live in the system Keychain, there's no signup, and there's no server of ours sitting between your device and your providers.

Open Settings and paste an API key from any provider you already use: Kie.ai, fal, Runware, Replicate, Runway, Higgsfield, or your own custom endpoint. It goes into the system Keychain. One key is enough to start.
Pick a model, write a prompt, open Advanced Parameters if you want the knobs. The request goes from your device to your provider and the result comes back to your Library. Your provider bills you at their rate.

No. One key gets you generating. Aura only talks to the providers you've configured, and you can add or drop keys whenever you feel like it. Most people start with one and add a second when they want a model the first one doesn't carry.
Whatever your provider charges, and not a cent more. Aura adds no markup and takes no percentage, so a typical fal or Runware image runs from fractions of a cent to a few cents at direct prices. You get billed by your provider, on your provider's invoice, at the rate they publish.
Because there's nothing to keep paying for. Aura has no accounts to host and no servers to run, and your generations are billed to you by your provider rather than fronted by us. A company that isn't paying for your compute has no reason to meter it. $49 buys the app and all 1.x updates.
A $49 in-app purchase turns the trial into a lifetime license. Nothing about your setup changes when you buy: your API keys stay in your Keychain and your generated files stay on your disk, exactly where they were.

Your prompts and media go from your device straight to the provider you chose, under that provider's terms. If you use Enhance Prompt or Heal, prompt text goes to the LLM provider you configured, along with downscaled snapshots of your reference images when Enhance is working with references. Aura runs no servers and collects no telemetry or analytics. Your API keys never leave the system Keychain except to reach the provider you pointed them at. Purchases and trials are handled by Apple through the App Store, so we never see your payment details.
